I am a great fan of live webcam softwares and now i will share how to use the live webcam softwares to monitor world events from the ease of your home. The best thing is that these webcam softwares are free to use.The only thing you need is a PC with internet connection.I have used some live webcam softwares, the best ones are Webcam watcher and Webcam viewer.Webcamviewer is free of cost while the latter has to be registered.

Below are some pictures which were captured as Y2K happened around the world (Source ):-

There are thousands of webcams on the internet. You can use the webcam search engine at http://www.camcentral.com/ to search for any kind of live cam like Parrot cams, Dog cams, Personal cams, Ghost cams, etc.

After getting the URL of your desired webcam, you just have to add this webcam URL to the software and decide the refresh limit. The software will automatically refresh pictures and you can also automatically save the picture sequence for each webcam in a seperate folder.

You can simultaneously monitor any number of webcams using these softwares. The only limit is your internet conection speed.

In the below screenshot I was monitoring the scene over the Panama Canal (business as usual).

Some other interesting things you can do are to hunt a Ghost using the ghost cams which are placed in haunted mansions and ancient castles or to shoot bubbles in air using the website’s java button and then capture them using the bubble cam. Hundreds of such strange cams can be discovered using the Camcentral Website.
