You can easily create ASCII art that you find in .NFO files that sometimes come with softwares that you download from internet usually cracks, illegal stuff, etc. Or ASCII art that some people use as their email signature.

JavE (Java Ascii Versatile Editor) is a free ASCII Editor intended for drawing simple diagrams by using Ascii characters.
It is like a graphics editor for editing texts instead of images. You can create awesome ASCII art using JAVE. You need Java 2 Runtime Environment to run Jave. Java runtime can be downloaded from here.

Other good way to create ASCII art is by using Boosty’s ASCII artist. ASCIIArtist is a class to convert Bitmap-Images into nice ASCII Texts in HTML format . You can download the script from here to use on your own website.
