Google Enigmas

These are some of the google enigmas that can’t be explained. Web marketers and googlers keep on guessing about google but google is still a closed book and theres so much to discover.

1. Does the Length of a Domain Registration Affect Your Rank?
Google became ICANN accredited domain registrar in February 2005, google officialy said that they have no plans to register domains but the information will be used to increase the quality of search results.

One big mystery regarding google is that is that Does the Length of a Domain Registration Affect Your Rank?. According to web marketing expert Yaro Storak,Google may be checking, for how much time your domain has been registered. Those that care about their domain and their brand will register their domain for a long time. This demonstrates commitment. So domain registration period will be yet another flag in the Google system that will keep certain sites away from top rankings. For more on this issue, read this article by Bizz Hartzer.

2. Is Google Pagerank significant ???

this:

  • The last PR update could have been months ago.
  • The number we see is not the real PR of a web page.
  • PR can actually be stolen or faked.
  • PR is only a small part of the entire algorithm.
  • PR0 (PageRank zero) is not necessarily a bad thing.
  • PR is not always passed from one page to another.
  • PR doesn’t always pass its full value to another page.
  • PR is sometimes estimated.

or that:

PageRank, which is largely based upon the number and quality of backlinks a webpage has, is an important factor in how well a particular webpage ranks within the Google search results.

3. Google Honeymoon
The 3rd enigma ,named by Yaro Starak as Google Honeymoon Period. The “Google Honeymoon” , is the period 24-48 hours after producing a new web page where it first ranks in the Google search index. For the next 2-4 weeks the page will rank particularly highly and then drop back to whatever is normal for the website.

As explained by Yaro, the honeymoon period occurs so Google can collect data on how relevant your pages are for those keywords. If during the honey your pages are clicked often and the visitor hangs around for a while (doesn’t click back and choose another option from the search results) then your drop after the honeymoon isn’t significant. The logic being that your page offers a good answer to the question being asked.

It’s foolish to ever believe you can be 100% certain of what Google is doing - Yaro

 I agree…
