WordPress 2.0 is a great piece of blogging software, you can use plugins to extend the functionality of WordPress far beyond what it can do out of the box. Below is the list of wordpress plugin that i use and recommend to other wordpress users.

1. Akismet - Akismet is the best plugin to block spam comments. Every comment posted is checked with the Akismet web serivce to see if they look like spam or not. You need a WordPress.com API key to use this service. It also automatically delete spam comments after 15 days.

2. Google Sitemaps - This plugin will create a Google compliant sitemap of your WordPress blog posts. The sitemap is updated everytime you publish a post. You can submit generate sitemaps here.

3. Simpletags - This plugin can be used to crate list of Technorati tags at the bottom of your post . You have to manually provide a comma separated list of wordpress and it will create list of technorati links. Works with the WYSIWYG editor.

4. Adsense Deluxe - Plugin to place Google AdSense ads in your WordPress Posts. You just have to paste html comments in the post and this plugin will parse them to adsense ads.

5. Adsense Beautifier -This plugin make your Adsense look beautiful in order to increase you Adsense earnings. You can add image next to your adsense ad to increase Click Through Rate. See this post.

6. WP-Contactform - Form2Mail plugin for wordpress. It can be easily implemented on a page or a post.

7. Adhesive - Adhesive makes a post “sticky” so that it always appears at the top of the page.

8. Related Posts - This plugin automatically generate list of related posts. You can implement it on index page, single post or sidebar.
