Postdating & Backdating Blog Posts

Postdating:
You can assign a future date to your blog post to make the post sticky. The posts appear in reverse chronological order so if you assign a future date to the blog, it will appear on top of all posts and will act as sticky post.

You may find sticky posts on blogs handy when there’s an important announcement or you want a post to appear on top of all posts.

The sticky post hack doesnt work with wordpress because the post will not appear on the page before that date. You can use wordpress plugin called Adhesive that lets you turn any blog post into a sticky one.

Backdating:
The backdating can be useful if don’t want the post to appear on the main page of your blog. Recently somebody sent me an email about Nokia 888 concept phone. I prepared a blog post on that. Then i searched google and found that the news is old enough, so instead of trashing the article, i posted it with back date.

How to change post date?

Blogger: The Date and Time settings for a post are beneath the post-editing field.
Wordpress: Wordpress lets you modify the date of a blog post via the “Post Timestamp” setting.
Typepad: Click the clock icon and edit the time and/or date of the post you can use the arrows on the calendar to navigate previous and next through the months.
