I never knew that :shock:. The current Seven Wonders of the World are outdated. The search is on for defining the New 7 Wonders of the World.
The initiative started in 2000. Experts considered the 77 sites with the highest number of votes and shortlisted 21 finalists on January 1, 2006.
After a final 18 months of voting by the global public, the New 7 Wonders of the World will be announced during the Official Declaration ceremony in Lisbon, Portugal on Saturday, July 7, 2007.
The final year of the campaign will be marked with a World Tour visiting all 21 finalist wonders and a TV series to be produced by the world’s leading television production company Endemol. See the N7W World Tour Calendar.
