Indian farmers of Pen taluka in the Raigad district of Maharashtra have used images obtained from Google Earth to claim higher compensation for their lands from the Government.
The state authorities claimed parts of the land was submerged in salty creek water and was infertile, To prove the authorities wrong, Mr Arun Shivkar, an activist of the SEZ Hatao Virodh Samiti used Google Earth to generate images of the crop lands, thus proving that their land is fertile.
