lycos-cinemaLycos recently launched a new service named Lycos Cinema, is a free, advertising-supported service that lets multiple people watch the same video at the same time and chat about that video in realtime. Its like a virtual living room where users can watch and chat about video in real time.

Video producers and filmmakers will be able to release their latest content on the service and get immediate feedback from viewers.

The can be upto 10 people in a room, and rooms can be set to private and password protected. There’s also private messaging and the ability to block messages from users who are bothering you.

There is a facility to invitie others to watch video content, while the host of the room controls the video experience. Room hosts can pause, rewind, and fast-forward video streams, and most importantly, chat with other Screening Room viewers. Users can view profiles of other guests in the Screening Room audience and can add buddies for future watch and chat sessions.

The interface is flash based ,load times are slow and the site is unreliable.
