Technology to Store 450 GB on Paper a Scam

Posted by admin in India, Internet, Tec... | 11.26.2006 - 5:17 am

This story is on the main page of digg that a boy from Kerala claimed that he invented a way to store 256 GB on a sheet of A4 paper. New “rainbow technology”, devised by Sainul Abideen who has just completed an MCA degree in Kerala, data can be encoded into coloured geometric shapes and stored in dense patterns on paper.

The IT soup blog clears that Barcode companies did their maximum when they tried to develop 2 D barcodes and the maximum they could get was around 2000 bytes of data!!

These types of scams happen regularly in India, I remember a village boy from Uttar Pradesh claimed that he won an international examination organised by Nasa and the news went up to BBC, the news later turned out to be a scam.

Also someone developed gasolene from leaves and a guy claimed he got alien cells from rain.

It is not correct to say, these type of scam happens regularly in India, every country has their share. It happend all around the world.

yup.. even “get quick rich scheme” scam is popular in our country(my)..but this one is extreme.(coz it’s featured in bbc)… the alien part is the funniest. ;)

Its so easy to feature something on Digg, sometimes really stories are said to scammed, so we need to use our logic here !!

real problem is some top news sources and blogs posting such stories without any research or verification.
