Andy Moor from link assistant notified me about their brand new freeware tool SEO SpyGlass.
You can use it to analyze the backlinks of your competitors, and see why a specific site ranks high for a specific search string.
You can also use SEO Spy Glass to analyze your own site and to instantly view your own link profile at a glance. I tried this tool and its truly awesome.
Some useful features of SEO SpyGlass:

- How many of your competitor’s backlinks come from forums and blogs
- Whether or not your competitor has backlinks from the Yahoo! Directory
- Whether or not your competitor has backlinks from DMOZ (ODP) Directory

Visit their website to read more and download.
