Germany may make it illegal for anyone to develop, sell or play video games that contain “cruel violence. Germany is currently the third biggest world market for computer entertainment.
The legislation was written as a reaction to a school shooting last month where Sebastian Bosse from the town of Emsdetten placed on the Dutch border, attacked and wounded 37 people that were in his former school at the time,
The fact was later revealed that the shooter was an enthusiastic Counter Strike player.
The bill - unveiled this week by two states and due to be presented to the national parliament next year - is already raising the alarm in the strong German online gaming community.
