The Truth About PS3’s Backward Compatibility

PS3fanboy reports that wide number of PS2 games when played on the PS3 depict insanely bad resolution/graphical issues.

The games look fantastic when I play them via component from my PS2. So I used the SAME component cable on my PS3, kept the picture adjustments the same, and even set the PS3’s output resolution to 480i to emulate what the PS2 was doing.

Some say that the first batch of ‘PS3’s are the ones with this issue, some say it’s completely random, some say it’s all PS3’s and some others claim that it’s the TV’s being played on.
