A good friend of mine recently purchased VBulletin and honestly, PHP3 has nothing to envy Vbulletin and it is free. So far I feel safer and more stable with this new version. Definetly worth the try. I have phpBB3 RC7 and I love it! There is lots of modifications to add after, so you can make phpBB better than vBulletin. About the released date, there is no actual release date, even the creators don't know, but I think it will be soon. phpBB3 RC7 works fine.
