Jimmy Wales, the founder of Wikipedia, the online encyclopaedia, is set to launch an internet search engine with amazon.com that he hopes will become a rival to Google and Yahoo!
The project has been dubbed Wikiasari — a combination of wiki, the Hawaiian word for quick, and asari, which is Japanese for “rummaging search”.
The search engine will exploit the user-based technology like Wikipedia and will involve human input to judge the quality of content.

When you create your own WordPress templates and put link to your blog in the theme footer, the theme when used by anyone on their website, the link back is counted by technorati and helps your rank well on technorati.
Wordpress effect is when technorati figures out that people are not actually writing about a blog, but rather they have a link that is pre-embedded in their theme.
After that they may list a domain name as a “Wordpress effect” candidate.
Early this year theme designer Kaushal Sheth’s website was suspectedly marked as Wordpress effect candidate, when his website was showing just 3 links from 2 sites making his blog rank very bad.
My wordpress theme PlaintxtBlog Enhanced i think has been marked as wordpress effect candidate and backlinks coming from this theme are not being counted by technorati.

Whenever you see something interesting online, just click the higlighter button in the firefox toolbar. A bottom bar similar to performancing blog editor will open.

The extension automatically fetches the title and tags from the page. You just have to select appropriate category and add some description. The desciption field features a full fledged WYSIWYG editor which you can use to add formatting, pictures, html to the story description.
Then you just have to click the Publish button and the news will be instantly submitted to the NowPublic website.
The now public highlighter extension has inbuilt blog publishing functionality that let you submit the news to your own blog at the same time.

Last year, one of the Google Earth Community members ‘Valery35′ found a huge picture (36 miles tall) of Santa on Google Earth.

You can Download this Google Earth File. You must have GE installed. and then turn on the “Little world” in your “Temporary Places”. Look in the nose of Rudolf for Santa.
