sealandSome days back Pirate Bay announced that they are going to raise enough money to buy The Principality of Sealand, a small island and make it a copyright-free nation. They also launched BuySealand.com to raise funds.

Now, the Pirate Bay, has been told that it will not allowed to purchase Sealand at any price.

His Royal Highness Prince Michael of Sealand said in an interview with ‘CBC The Hour’ that buying Sealand is probably a good way to circumvent international copyright law, but that he won’t sell sealand to the Pirate Bay.

Video:

Sealand is a former British naval fort built during World War II, It was declared an independent country in 1967. The population of the facility rarely exceeds ten, and its area is 550 m2.

Michael Bates, who prefers to be called Prince Michael of Sealand, is the son of Paddy Roy Bates a retired army major turned pirate radio station operator who used the abandoned sea fort, called Roughs Tower to host his radio equipment.
