AMR to WAV/MP3

Recently a reader Anshul Mahajan asked me about AMR to MP3 conversion.

AMR (Adaptive Multi Rate) recording format is used in many cellphones iincluding Nokia S60.

I found a freeware Miksoft AMR to WAV converter , It uses Sony Ericsson AMR converter, to convert AMR files (*.amr) to wave files. It can also convert MP3, WAV files back to AMR format.

After you get the Wav file, you can convert it to MP3 by using free audio editing utilities. I recommend using Audacity, a free opensource Audio Editor and Recorder.

total video converter does the same also directly from amr to mp3 or any other format …lot of options. get it from http://www.effectmatrix.com/

@kulwinder, Total video converter is not freeware it costs $29.

I know this is a bit spammy but… I implemented an online MP3 to AMR converter on my site at http://www.free-ringtones.ie/ringtone-converter/mp3-to-amr/. It runs ffmpeg on my linux box, pretty simple. And free!

Thats a great post
But do you know of any converter that can do this att command line.???
miksoft thing doesnt seem to have a command line edition
