wordpress-digg-itWordpress.com blog hosting service has added the support for digg it buttons, allowing users to easily integrate “Digg it” buttons in blog posts.

Tag for adding digg it button to your wordpress hosted blog post.

I suggest you to read the step by step instructions here.

The FAQ say that your story must already be submitted to Digg for this to work so i am still confused how the button will show up if someone else submits your story to digg.

There must be some technical limitations that pushed them to keep it simple because there are some better wordpress plugins to automatically detect if the story is submitted on digg.

If your story is on digg then users can digg it else the button will take them to a page where they can submit it to the digg.

If you look at the embed code, there’s a placeholder for the URL of the dugg post, which is why it has to be dugg in the first place. Once the post is in Digg, you copy and paste the Digg link into the code and paste it in your WordPress.com blog. That’s it.
