Gadget Theft is free online gadget theft recovery system. It provides a software application to track missing USB gadgets.
Once you install the agent files are in the root of a USB mass storage devices, such as a USB flash drive, digital camera and iPods. If your USB item get lost or stolen, you have to goto the Gadget Theft site and flag the item as missing.
The next time the device is accessed it will attempt to contact gadget theft service and will provide critical forensic data regarding the system it is plugged into including:
- Public IP Address
- Location (Country, City, State & Zip)
- Username
- Computer Name
- Host name of ISP
- Internal network IP address
The agent will only work on Windows systems (Windows 98-XP) and will automatically run when the device is plugged in. For more information you can read the help page or FAQ.

Cool application!
I never knew this was possible. I think we should all have this thing for us coz we can lose our gadgets anytime. Though to save my contacts, ive been using zyb.com so that even if i lose my phone, i should have my contacts saved with me.
