Headings are not only useful in keeping the structure of your webpages but they are also valuable in SEO.

There are six levels of headings in HTML specified by tags <H1>, <H2>, <H3>, <H4>, <H5> and <H6>.

The <H1> tag is the next most important tag after the page title tag. Google bot give headings more preferance than ordinary text.

Using several keyword rich headings on your page can be an extremely effective optimization strategy. So when writing long posts, try to format the post using heading tags instead of making text bold and large in your post. It will give you seo benefits and at the same time make your post clear and orderly.
