ReviewMe Offers Advertorials

Posted by admin in Monetize, ... | 07.11.2007 - 11:13 pm

Reviewme has recently added a new service named Advertorials which are sponsored posts written by advertisers.

You don’t have to do any research as advertisers will create posts for you. After accepting the advertorial offer, you have to simply copy and post the code provided by the advertiser on your blog.

How are advertorials different ?

  • A review is entirely a blogger’s opinion, advertorials give advertisers, full control over the message.
  • Advertorials feature full impression and click tracking so advertisers can measure their return on investment.

To ensure than advertorials are only used to promote a service and to generate buzz and traffic. Reviewme has set some special advertorial guidelines:

  • Advertorials have no SEO benefit. All links within Advertorials are redirects and no direct links.
  • Advertorials are marked at the beginning of the post as a “SPONSOR POST:”

The downside of advertorials:

  • As advertorials have no SEO benefit, only high traffic blogs will get advertorial offers.
  • If advertisers spread same message using multiple blogs it might irritate the readers.
  • Search engines can penalize for duplicate Content.

What is your opinion about this new service ?

Even if mine was a high traffic blog, those 3 demerits you mentioned would certainly discourage me from using this. Duplicate content being the primary problem

    ReviewMe is getting more evil.
They were better than PPP, but are now going back.
