Tag Heuer is releasing its first luxury mobile phone. It is called the Meridiist and will retail from between $5300 to $6100. Why the large price tag? It is made of corrosion-resistant, watch-making 316L steel, unscratchable 60.5 carats sapphire crystal dual displays, Swiss engineered and hand assembled from 430 components. It features a 1.9” QVGA main display, monochrome OLED screen on top, a 2-megapixel camera, Bluetooth, MP3/AAC/MPEG-4 playback, and 7 hours of talk time. It is due out in September of this year.

I dont believe this phone would ever grab consumers.. Now the mobile sale is almost entirely based on brand value and none would choose something other than nokia, samsung, sony , motorola or to the most lg..
