One word. Wireless. Take away someone’s wireless capabilities and you instill panic and fear into their little hearts. Today, very few of us do anything in an average day that doesn’t involve at least a few wireless operations and the first thing you think of when this comes to mind is your wireless handheld device otherwise known as your cell phone. Most if not all of us would be lost without it, it contains EVERYTHING we need to function and communicate in this world. And yes though we can make calls, send texts, browse the Internet, and for some, even send emails, it’s not necessarily the specific functions of the wireless that makes it so convenient and today’s MUST HAVE. No, it is the portability.
The very thought that we can do all of these things, including talk on the phone of all things, anywhere, any time. That is why the cell phone was invented. What was normally a gadget for emergency use only has become an everyday essential in today’s world. So the question begs then, what is going to happen to the land line? Are you the type that gabs on your home phone endlessly when you get home from work, or do you find that you spend more time on your cell, even when you are at home, than you do on a land based telephone line. There is no question that today’s business still needs the land line, without it the corporate world as we know it would crumble. Would it? Let’s revisit that in a few years and see if that’s the case, but when it comes to personal use, the land line is all but obsolete.

Yes, we live in a day and age where cell phones are a necessity, and with their portability, they are even more important than our at-home landlines. Parents are even doling them out to their kids, for in case of emergency purposes and to have a ready contact at their fingertips when mom, dad, or the babysitter needs to be reached in a jiffy. And well they should. But not all families are sticking to the same brand of cell phone, and the reason for this is functionality that spreads across the brands. Adults need and use their cell phones for a much wider variety of purposes than children do, and with Blackberries, iPhone, and the huge number of Sony and Nokia brands out there, it can get pretty messy and tangled when everyone needs to charge their handhelds at the same time. Which is where the USB Multi-Cellular Phone Charger comes in handy.
This device will cater to all of the most popular brands of cell phones on the market such as Motorola, Sony Ericsson, and Nokie, amongs a huge range of others. The gadget relies on USB power to juice up your handheld making it even more convenient. Those that travel can use their laptop and charge their cell phone at the same time and for only $18 bucks, it may actually be one of the cheaper phone chargers on the market, making everyone in the family happy at the same time. Ah, ain’t life grand?

Anyone that has had any opportunity to spend some time with a Blackberry for communication purposes knows full well what a handy dandy tool this is. There is a reason why many refer to it as the Crackberry. I won’t leave mine out of my sight for a second, and the functionality that one can achieve out of a small little gadget amazes me still. So when I heard that Tivo was coming to Blackberry, you have to know things got a little excited over here. The beauty of the Blackberry is that there is very little that you can’t do with it. That’s why it is so overwhelmingly popular. There are even capabilities within the Blackberry that are not accessible by the iPhone, well, let’s say just yet on that one. MMS capabilities alone are superior on the Blackberry and can not be matched. Which is why Tivo on the Blackberry makes perfect sense.
Tivo and Research in Motion have now announced a partnership that will bring your Tivo services to the Blackberry giving you just one more thing that you can do with your Smartphone. While you are away from home, you can check to see what shows are on, and schedule recordings if you can’t make it home to do so. Not only that, but you will be able to watch TIVO content wirelessly from your Blackberry.
The scheduling aspect alone is worth this application, and is ideal for those, i.e. all of us, who are away from home and see a long day ahead and think *dang* I forgot to Tivo the game! Do it all from your phone. And if you are a heavy business traveler and just can’t handle basic cable in your hotel room, check out your Smartphone and watch whatever it is that recorded happily for you during your long flight. Not out yet, but soon, and I am sure right on its heels will be Apple and AppleTV coming up with a very similar app for iPhone users.

Whoo boy, I love this one. I am that one in the family where bets are placed as to how long it will take before I lose my iPod. Yep, they are almost taking turns at Christmas now to see who’s responsible this year for replacing my iPod since I always seem to be leaving it here there and everywhere. When I saw this gadget, I was pretty psyched. Yes, this one will involve you actually having to chain the iPod to your physical person, or wherever you would like to chain it to, however, it beats the price of having to replace the one you’ve left behind, never mind reload all your tunes again.
It’s called the Master Lock and is not only being targeted to those like me with their head in the clouds half the time, but to those who are victims of iPod theft. It is said that the iPod is the most stolen gadget, so if you have been victim to this on more than one occasion, you may appreciate the Master Lock. All you have to do is slip the iPod into its case and wrap the wire around *something* and you will never lose your iPod again. Once it is locked in, it can’t slip out of its case, and it can’t be moved from whatever you have it fastened to. Ladies can still keep their iPods hiding ubiquitously in their purses and have it tethered to something inside if you aren’t keen on the aesthetics, and men can do the same with their belt loops and pockets.
This is a handy tool also for traveling, or when flying (and you know I say that from experience). You don’t have to use it ALL the time, just when you think you will need it most. The features of the lock are that it is durable with a metal construction, will protect your device from scratches, and is locked via combination. You’ll never lose it again. Promise!

There is very little that we CAN’T do with the Internet today, we can shop, send packages, do our banking and finance, communicate with our loved ones, and on and on, we all know what a commodity the Internet is. And when it comes to finding and listening to our favourite tunes, the Internet is often our first medium. What about when it comes to listening to radio though? Most radio stations today have their stations online now so that you don’t actually NEED one of those clunky old radios to hear your favourite station. Whether you want to listen to talk radio, BBC, or a station on the other side of the planet, the Internet makes it possible. In fact, Internet radio may make satellite radio obsolete sooner than many would have thought.
This tool is one that allows you to access Internet radio without using your computer. Sure, it’s one of those clunky old radios, but for use at home, it is pretty convenient considering you can access more than 4,000 radio stations all over the world. The Morphy Richards Internet Radio will use your Wi-Fi connection to detect your network connection and allowing you to access whatever radio station you want, wherever you want. Radio stations are even conveniently listed by genre and country for faster browsing control, and you can have as many as six pre-sets on the box itself, much like you would in your vehicle. The box even has an added bonus for BBC listeners, allowing you to listen to radio programs over the last several days that you may have missed, and you can do this using the BBC iPlayer. You can also play tunes off of your iPod or MP3 player, if you’d rather not use radio, or slip in a handy SD card for the same purpose.
No more fiddling with wires and antennas, you get it all in one handy box.

This gadget is one of those specifically designed for those that just like to have cool stuff hanging around or sitting on their desktop. For those that like the coolness of a multiple all in 1 gadget, the USB 4 in 1 Webcam will definitely tickle the geek bone. The gadget includes a web cam and microphone as well as a USB port and mini fan giving you 4 gadgets in 1. Each gadget is docked on its own twistable arm so that you can organize it around your own desktop design and the fan itself also has an LED light attached to it with dimmer switches for your convenience. The web cam can also be used for either still picture capture or video recording as well. It can be attached to any surface with its flexible sucker attachment and thus is about as unique as it gets when it comes to an all in 1 tool.
