The beauty of the iPod is that you can take it with you wherever you go. Listen to it no matter where you are, or what you are doing. By sometimes you just need to set it somewhere while you are getting dinner ready, fussing around the workshop, or whatever. And so you may have your docking stations, but they do not offer the portability that you really want, which is why you have the iPod anyway, isn’t it? So along comes the iMu speaker.

The iMu vibrating speaker will transform any flat, hard surface into a top notch audio speaker. You’ll never look at your dining room table or hardwood floors in quite the same light again. It doesn’t stop there though. You can listen to your beats from things like tops of household appliances, cupboards and even your dashboard. How does it work? Well, the iMu itself is a small super-energy crystal device which deploys highly effective vibration-based technologies. Yes, it sounds a little confusing, but the more confusing it sounds perhaps, then the better quality product you are going to get, no? It operates thanks to a unique US Navy-developed composite called Terfenol-D. With this substance encased by aluminium with a further coil wrapped around it, all it needs is for a current to be passed through to transform electrical signals (your music) into mechanical energy (vibrations). Overall, the iMu is a stylish gadget with excellent functionality and a great way to bring a bit of science into the home domain.
