Verizon Wireless has a brand new Push-to-Talk cell phone for the masses today - the Verizon Wireless CDM8975
. This handset is developed by the lesser known Personal Communications Devices, LLC, and will take its place among the pantheon of Verizon Wireless’ robust line-up of Push to Talk handsets which offer a speedy two-way communication method for a more efficient and quicker way of getting the job done.
It will come in an industrial clamshell design, so don’t bother trying to impress the ladies with it. A Vertu this is not, but at least it is functional and feature-rich for its class without breaking the bank. You will be able to access Verizon Wireless’ Push-to-Talk service as well as take advantage of VZ Navigator
to access audible turn-by-turn maps, directions and millions of data points whenever you’re in unfamiliar territory.
Other features that you may like are the Dedicated Push to Talk and speakerphone button, Bluetooth technology, V CAST Music with Rhapsody-capable, V CAST Video, both SMS/MMS support, Phonebook with up to 500 entries (because you’re just THAT popular), Push to Talk phonebook, and microSD memory card slot. As it stands now, you will be able to pick up the Verizon Wireless CDM8975 for $99
after a $50 mail-in rebate and agreeing to a new two-year contract.

Many women believe that having their unborn child listen to certain music is highly good for them. That usually means they have headphones playing Bach attached to their belly. However, for others it means that they’re educating their child on a few rock legends or their favorite artist. Well why end it when the child is born? Now with this Combi iPod Bouncer, you can have your child bouncing away to your favorite songs. This is a double benefit for parents as well, as exposing your child to tunes that YOU like now, may decrease your time spent with Barney and the Teletubbies on road trips down the road.
The bouncer can be hooked up to either an iPod or just any other type of MP3 player. The bouncer also includes a canopy (that is removable) and a bar with toys hanging from it to keep your child happy and entertained. The seat itself has two different positions it can recline into. It is meant for children 6 months and older, with a weight limit of 25lbs. It does say that it could be used for newborns in the fully reclined position, but for preemie babies weighing less than 5lbs you should consult a pediatrician. If you know, ensuring that your premie has access to iPod music is REALLY a huge priority. Pick it up at Think Geek for about $80 bucks.

Callpod is a name that is associated with premium mobile accessories and software applications that target working professionals, and the company has recently rolled out the latest coolest app, The Keeper. Unfortunately for Blackberry or other smartphone users, the Keeper’s debut is available on the iPhone platform only at this point in time, although it would have been nice to have seen it make an appearance on Windows Mobile as well as Symbian platforms since there are more of such devices on the market compared to the iPhone.
What does Keeper do, you ask? The answer is pretty simple actually - it enables allows users to quickly and easily store all sensitive passwords, notes, lists and other personal information in a safe and secure environment. In addition, Keeper will let users to fully search, index and protect information with multi-layer encryption. Some of you might be disappointed that your mobile phone doesn’t have a GPS device like other mobile phones. Well, if your cellular phone has a SIM card reader, then you may not need this GPS envy any more with this new gadget aptly-named SIMply-A-GPS. This product, developed by Sagem-Orga and BlueSky Positioning, is definitely one of those products that truly defines plug-and-play. Somehow, these two groups have figured out how to put a GPS receiver, antenna, as well as the application software into a product that fits into any phone’s card reader. It can work with any GSM or 3G phone, and, when inserted, it will run on your mobile like a SIM/USMI.
Apparently, there are no software or hardware changes required for handsets, and it can support generic location-based services such as navigation, such as “find a place or person” services and location-aware games. And if that isn’t enough, it also supports E-112 and E-911 Emergency Call Positioning and enables SIM, mobile, and network-based LBS applications. Unfortunately, there doesn’t appear to be a release date for this product, but there is word that soon is the hope with this gadget.
You can read more about the science of the stuff right here.

It appears that not only is coffee good to the last drop, but the dregs are now good for printing a document. Yes, someone has actually invented a printer that uses old coffee grounds as ink, and to make it even more interesting, the printer does not even require electricity. This coffee and manually powered printer was not entirely the product of pure inspiration. The RITI printer is designed by Joen Hwan Ju, and it has generated a lot of buzz in the gadget world.
In case you haven’t heard how the RITI printer works, you have to place the remnants of your wet and dirty coffee filter inside an ink cartridge with some water. Insert a piece of paper, and then you manually move the cartridge back and forth and it will mark up the paper. Using your own kinetic energy to power the process also means no electricity is needed, and you have all that coffee induced energy to burn anyway. Once complete, you empty the cartridge, meaning your coffee leftovers can continue their journey to the compost bin. But if speed is your need for printing, I may not suggest this product as my guess would be that the manual operation of the printer would be a fast process.
In all honesty, a late-eighties dot matrix printer would probably do a speedier job. However, your documents wouldn’t smell as mountain-fresh afterward. It might not be a the solution for full color print jobs, but its an ingenious recycling idea, and one we’d love to see make it to market.
