acer aspire one netbook

Acer has just announced that it will be offering a couple more versions of their highly popular Aspire One netbooks, although these won’t sport the hugely popular Atom processor but will instead throw in the powerful Athlon II Neo processors complete with AMD-based high-definition capabilities. We’re talking about the 11.6-inch Aspire One AO721 and the 10.1-inch Aspire One AO521, where both models were specially designed for ultra-portability and usability, and are more than capable of delivering high-definition graphics and video playback, alongside smooth communications. Targeting the US market, both the Aspire One AO721 and AO521 are available at retail and e-tail outlets with prices starting from $429.99 and $349.99, respectively. Both models will sport the AMD Athlon II Neo K125 processor that have been specially optimized for improved energy efficiency and designed to deliver balanced performance required if one were to make full use of the netbook while enjoying multiple applications and features.

You will also find that either netbook is no slouch when it comes to graphical performance, where the ATI Radeon HD 4225 Graphics has 384MB of dedicated system memory to help you out further if you decide to indulge in some games. The Aspire One AO721 is equipped with a high-definition 11.6-inch CrystalBrite LED backlit display that offers the largest viewing area on an Acer netbook to date. It will come in a black matte, mesh-textured cover that ensures you won’t need to wipe away fingerprints too often due to smudging. Measuring less than an inch thin and tipping the scales at 3 pounds, the Aspire One AO721 is not lacking hardware wise, with a full-sized keyboard for more accurate and comfortable typing, 2GB of DDR3 memory and up to a 250GB hard drive. As for the ultra-mobile Aspire One AO521 netbook, you get a HD 10.1-inch CrystalBrite LED backlit display, a 93%-sized keyboard, 1GB of DDR3 memory and up to a 250GB hard drive. This is a fingerprint magnet though, no thanks to its smooth, glossy exterior so make sure you have a cleaning cloth handy always.

LUMIX FX75

I’m pretty sure that most of you out there are familiar with the phrase, do not judge a book by its cover? The same applies to the world of gizmos as well, as we are not supposed to judge how a gadget will perform based on its size and looks. The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX75 is one such device that ought to be approached with a degree of respect, since this super-slim digital camera might be small in stature, but it manages to pack in big features such as a 24mm ultra-wide-angle F2.2 bright LEICA DC VARIO-SUMMICRON lens with 5x optical zoom that will come in handy if you’re a huge fan of shooting High Definition video for posterity. Apart from that, this slim and stylish LUMIX FX75 is a 14.1-megapixel digital camera that makes it one of Panasonic’s high-performing hybrid models. The LUMIX FX75 is able to record HD video in the AVCHD Lite format, where this format will more or less double the recording time in HD quality when compared with the conventional Motion JPEG format. When doing so, this content makes perfect fodder for viewing on an HDTV, while Dolby Digital Creator can also record high quality audio. Of course, you can also record in Motion JPEG if you want to, not to mention WVGA (848×480) and VGA (640×480) resolutions. You will find the LUMIX FX75 equipped with full touch-screen operation, where Auto Focus (AF) lets you capture the subject by simply touching the large 3″ 230,000-dot LCD display.

Not only that, you can also click onto a subject with a single touch, where the FX75 will go ahead and track the subject with the AF tracking feature – despite moving. Panasonic’s iA (Intelligent Auto) mode will also go one up on its previous iterations, as the LUMIX FX75 offers a new Motion Deblur mode mode that will update the motion detection (Intelligent ISO Control) and brightness control (Intelligent Exposure) in order to gain the highest shutter speed possible. This will greatly reduce blur created from handshake or the subject moving. Other technologies in the iA suite include POWER O.I.S., Face Recognition, Face Detection, AF Tracking, Intelligent ISO Control, Intelligent Scene Selector and Intelligent Exposure. There is no word on pricing just yet, although expect an announcement to be made a month before it ships to various market.
