While this gadget won’t actually do your Christmas shopping for you, it will certainly make it easier, and do everything else for you all the while. Every now and then something comes along that wows you with its practicality, something that just feels right. Something that makes so much sense, you have to wonder how it took so long for someone to come up with it in the first place. The Document Extractor, brainchild of Byeong Min Choe, marries your printer, scanner, and monitor into one potentially perfect device. The monitor, has a touch screen interface that allows you to select and crop the area of the page you wish to print, and the selected area will print from the back to the front of the device, dropping from your computer screen into reality. Scanning is a similar process in which the user is able to feed the document to be scanned up into the device and Voila!
It appears on your display as if you just feed it up behind the screen. The designer reminds us that the Document Extractor is not simply a space saving device, it will also save us time and resources like expensive ink and toner. If Yanko Design has its way, it will be on the market sooner than you think.

Despite being a newcomer to the strange world of spread betting, it was surprisingly easy to grasp the basics – and I’m enjoying it way more than I ever thought possible.
Still, I must make it clear that spread betting is not something for the uninitiated to launch into without a full understanding of how it works. The increased publicity surrounding an activity which was, until recently, considered the preserve of fearless City boys, may lead you to approach spread betting with a less-than-cautious attitude. This would be unwise.
Nonetheless, the new iPhone app from CMC Markets is fairly straightforward to get to grips with. The best thing about this nifty live spread betting app is the demo feature, which allows you to have a go at risk-free trading whilst you’re on the bus. This helps you familiarise yourself with the process in a pleasing, organic way. I would advise taking your time over the practice version, so that you will approach the live markets feeling at ease. The app’s principle appeal for veteran bettors however is it’s continuous, mobile access to thousands of financial instruments including shares, indices, forex pairs and commodities. This is clearly a worthwhile development given how important it is to watch your market positions closely in this mercurial world. Wherein the past you would need to be glued to a computer, poised to close a position at the ideal moment, the app gives you constant access to the CMC trading platform. It certainly maintains a certain peace of mind that your bets aren’t spiraling out of control.
The platform itself is a dream to use – far less clunky and more user-friendly than other similar spread betting systems. In fact, it’s an intelligently-designed, easily navigable interface, which allows you a level of intuition that is essential for fluid, on-the-ball trading. You can compile watchlists, set default stop losses and take profit orders – all of which make for a satisfyingly bespoke platform.
If you’re intrigued and want to find out more a visit to the CMC Markets website should provide a useful introduction to all things spread betting and, for a proper introduction to the application this CMC spread betting app news is worth a read.

Portable scanners are nothing new, but what about one that not only accepts full-page documents and photographs, it also provides a preview of images thanks to its built-in 2.4-inch color LCD display? This is perfect as it lets you have an idea of what you’ve scanned before saving it to the digital format. An exclusive by Hammacher and Schlemmer the Previewing Full Page Scanner is specially built for optimal portability, where it will take up just a foot of space regardless of where you use it unlike its flatbed scanner counterparts which require dedicated counter space. Capable of accepting face-down up to full 8 1/2″ x 11″ documents and photographs (and as small as 3″ x 5″), you can scan them at up to 300 dpi resolution, where the LCD will display previews in 480 x 234 pixel resolution glory. All documents and Photographs
are quickly converted into an individual, high-quality JPEG digital picture file which will then be saved onto a preferred memory card. It will play nice with SD and MMC memory card formats, and a mini USB cable is used to transfer all saved pics to your computer. At less than $170 a pop, it does sound like the perfect tool for the frequently traveling businessperson.

Altec Lansing knows that there is an ever expanding market of iPad owners, judging by the device’s popularity worldwide not to mention its sex appeal across a range of people. What better way to leverage a fast-growing user base than to roll out a peripheral which is capable of enhancing its use? That’s exactly what Altec Lansing
has done, introducing the Octiv Stage docking speaker system for the iPad, iPhone and iPod. It was specifically designed to significantly enhance center channel voicing for dialogue alongside stereo audio while playing media from the docked device, delivering a charge at the same time to make sure you don’t end up with a net battery loss once you’re done with your docking session. Of course, do bear in mind that non-Apple devices can still be hooked up to the Octiv Stage via the 3.5mm aux jack, but don’t expect those to be juiced when connected. The Octiv Stage has been touted to be the first product from Altec Lansing which was specially designed to support the iPad while showcasing its unique capabilities for entertainment.
Thanks to convenient design features that have been incorporated, the Octiv Stage delivers an exciting experience for watching and listening to content without making your home look any more drab than it already is. Thanks to Altec Lansing’s Audio Alignment technology, it is capable of delivering distinctive center channel voicing and enhanced stereo delivery for distortion-free performance even when you have cranked out the volume at maximum levels. A special rotating connection arm also enables the iPad to be viewed in both portrait and landscape positions, where the presence of a tilt screen allows for multiple viewing angles and support while typing on the iPad. Couch potatoes will love the inclusion of a full featured, wireless remote in this purchase that clocks in at less than $150.00.

Kingston is a name which is synonymous with flash memory, and it is no surprise to see the company roll out another next generation SSDNow V+ solid-state drive which will come in the form of the Kingston SSDNow V+100. What does this new memory drive offer? Well, you can more or less be sure that it will offer superior performance over its predecessors, where the V+100 will target corporations instead of regular home users with a viable solution to extend the life of currently installed client systems without compromising on user performance expectations. In a nutshell, Kingston will not offer something that skimps on performance figures, and yet is reliable enough for an enterprise set up. What makes the new SSDNow V+100 so special? For starters, it will feature enhanced garbage collection which will not depend on the operating system at all, making it a solid upgrade path to extend the life cycle of older client systems. As for the V+100’s drive performance, Kingston has managed to eke out another 25%, resulting in more efficient data transfer over the previous generation. Not only that, with a new 96GB capacity (something rarely seen these days) model being made available to the family, enterprise customers now have more choices when it comes to selecting just the right solution for backing up a plethora of data in their organization.
The 96GB figure came about after Kingston’s customers did let them know that they were looking for an SSD solution which sat ideally between 64 GB
and 128 GB
capacities, not to mention a price that is easy on the corporation’s coffers as well. To elaborate more on the enhanced ‘always-on’ garbage collection feature, it will cleanse redundant data from the drive in order to prevent performance degradation and maintains the drive over its life cycle. As it operates independently from the OS, it will play nice with modern, TRIM-supporting systems such as Windows 7 alongside old schoolers such as Windows Vista and XP that do not even talk to TRIM. Coming in a 2.5″ form factor, this new series is now available in 64GB, 96GB, 128GB, 256GB and 512GB capacities.
64 GB Sata 1.5 GB-s 2.5-Inch SVP100ES2/64G
128 GB Sata 1.5 GB-s 2.5-Inch SVP100ES2/128G
512 GB SATA 3GB/s 2.5-Inch Solid State Drive SNVP325-S2/512GB
