Coming May 1st are Dell’s 2 new business laptops. The 13.3” Vostro 1310 will start at $749 and the 15” Vostro 1510 will start at $599. Apparently a 3rd model, the 1710, is going to be released in the middle of May for an unknown amount. All models will feature slot-loading disc drives, fingerprint readers, Trusted Platform Module 1.2 which prevents data theft and network access, and McAfee Total Protection. Both are lighter and thinner than the previous versions.

It’s called the Empowered PowerCenter and there are 2 models the EP-2450 and the EP-3650. It conditions the power to all your equipment. But another more important feature, it redistributes the IR signals from your remote control! The difference between the 2 models, the EP-2450 has 5 devices with 7 AC outlets; the EP-3650 has 12 with 10 AC outlets. The prices: the EP-2450 about $500 and the EP-3650 about $600.
